Introduction
Welcome to Gamston Wood Ostriches! Our farm is located in the countryside of North Nottinghamshire. We have been farming Ostriches since 1995 and produce ostrich fillets, steaks and meat products.
We are always delighted to see our customers at the world famous Borough Market in Southwark, London SE1, but realise many of you are unable to carry our fresh meat home or visit the market in person. By ordering through the website we can keep in contact with you and update you with new products and ideas!
About Us
Our initial interest in Ostrich farming was fueled by the desire to do something different. These pre-historic looking birds produce the most amazing low fat tasty red meat we had ever tried. We soon realised we had a massive learning curve in front of us.
Our secluded farm provides the ideal location for our parent birds to lay their giant sized eggs (weighing 1 to 1.5kg). Once laid, the eggs are carefully collected and stored, ready for incubation. At all stages the birds are fed on a high quality diet which has been developed by Jim in tandem with our feed company.
Their daily rations are taken around manually by the family, therefore keeping regular contact with the birds ensuring all aspects of the birds care are monitored.
Our high quality meats and meat products are prepared to exacting standards on the farm. We continue to farm and source only the highest quality ostrich meat.
Our products are available from us is person at the Borough market, London or by mail order.

| Borough MarketThe full product range is available fresh from the shop counter every Friday and Saturday located below Roast restaurant, in the Floral Hall at the Borough Market.
Our hot food station is also open at the shop on both Friday and Saturday where we sell a range of burgers including Kangaroo, Water Buffalo and the usual Ostrich burgers. Steak sandwiches are a new addition to our hot food selection.
Our opening hours are as follows:
Friday: 12am - 6pm
Saturday: 9am - 5pm
The Borough market is located just south from London Bridge tube and railway station (5 minutes walk)
The Market is overlooked by the historic Southwark Cathedral.

We leave for Borough on a Thursday so if you wish to place an order for collecion on Friday or Saturday please inform us before this time so we can accomodate your order before hand.
